Baby News!

Technically, it is now spring, although I find this hard to believe since there are intermittent bursts of light snow falling outside. Despite this fact, the dawn of spring seems a good time to announce some of the signs of new life in our family.

As you all know, Mom took her role as "Mica" very seriously and loved Miles and Claire more than anything. I wish that I could have told her in person that I am expecting my first baby this coming September. Deborah and Grant will introduce a cousin to the mix this fall as well--Deborah is pregnant with their 3rd child and due a few days before I am! We are both doing well and my dad is excited to continue his role as "Pop Pop."

I hope my mom knows that these little miracles are on their way.

Sometimes in the last couple of months I have been completely overwhelmed as I think about the gift I have been given in this new life. My mom's wisdom would really come in handy right now. I have to believe, though, that the foundation she laid for me--and for my brother and his family--is enough to help me through this process.

I will try to post some recent pictures of everyone soon with the goal of inviting Mom to live on in all of us.

  1. Nadine,

My warmest and most heartfelt congratulations to you and John!! I am SO very, very happy for you, and it brings tears to my eyes thinking of the joy your mom would be sharing with you right now. And I am excited to know that Miles and Claire will have a new sibling -- my congratulations to Grant and Deborah, as well! I sat in on a couple of Deb's Skypes with Miles -- how richly blessed she felt to be so welcomed into the lives of her precious grandchildren.

It's spring, when Deb and I would typically meet somewhere for one of our little trips. I'm missing her more acutely now, as that realization has sunk in.

Thank you so much for keeping your families alive for me through this. I look forward to pictures ASAP!

    Love,
    Jeanie

  2. Nadine,
Thanks so much for sharing your family updates with us, today like so many day I clicked on to your blog just to look at your pictures and to somehow get it into my head all the things your family has gone through in the past couple of years. I am sure your Mom is smiling down on you and is overjoyed with the news of 2 grandbabys on the way. What a joy for your Dad. I too had my last little girl,(Natalie) a short time after my mom passed away and the joy she brought into the family has really helped to heal our broken heart. I know that my parents as well as David Mother had a hand in seeing that all that is good in our family continue even though they were not here in person to guide us in raising our 3 girls. God plans is so amazing and the joy that these 2 babys will bring will help you, and all that your Mom has taught you and told you will come rushing into your heart the moment you hold that new little one in your arms. She is so much a part of you and things you think you'll never say to your child you too will use them day to day. What a Joy and Blessing I so look foward to seeing many pictures also. Your life is truly never going to be the same, wishing you and John and Grant and Deb the best in the upcomming months.
    Gods blessing and much Love,
    Cricket Yaggi.

  4. What joyous news!!! Babies - your Mom loved babies :-) How excited she would be for you, expecting your first, and Grant, awaiting his third. Your dad will do double duty and love every minute. And how these new babies will enjoy getting to know their Mica through the books she taped for grandchildren to read and listen to for years to come.

personal note - Will you coming to Magee? That's where I work as a lactation consultant. Please let me know when you deliver so I can stop in and say hello.
